Australia received a boost for the TriNations in the news that powerful winger Digby Ioane's injury is not as bad as first thought.
It was thought that Ioane would need surgery on his shoulder after he injured it when he fell awkwardly in Australia's 21-20 loss to England in Sydney on Saturday.
Ioane was expected to have an operation that would have ruled him out for the season but second scan has shown that surgery will not be needed and he could still feature in the Wallabies test against the All Blacks in Melbourne on July the 31st.
The Wallabies received a further boost in the news that prop Benn Robinson who has a forearm injury and hooker Stephen Moore who has a jaw injury could be back for the Tri-Nations.
It is however expected number eight Wycliff Palu, lock James Horwill and hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau will all miss the tournament.
