Zealand, and Australia formed
SANZAR and pitched the Wallabies,
All Blacks and Springboks
against each other in the world's premier SH rugby competition.

New Zealand won the Tri Nations Rugby Cup in 1996 and 1997, with South Africa claiming the title in 1998. The All Blacks lifted the Cup again in 1999.
